Jonah's not done wrestling with God yet. You'd think He'd learned his lesson by now. Jonah got really mad at God because God was so good to the people and animals of Nineveh. God spared their lives and city. Jonah yelled at God. Scripture says: THIS CHANGE OF PLANS GREATLY UPSET JONAH, AND HE BECAME VERY ANGRY. SO HE COMPLAINED TO THE LORD ABOUT IT: "DIDN'T I SAY BEFORE I LEFT HOME THAT YOU WOULD DO THIS LORD? THAT IS WHY I RAN AWAY TO TARSHISH! I KNEW THAT YOU ARE A MERCIFUL AND COMPASSIONATE GOD, SLOW TO GET ANGRY AND FILLED WITH UNFAILING LOVE."
In what ways have you been wrestling with God and running away from Him? Jesus, the Guardian and Shepherd of our Souls, is always calling us back to Him: "MY SHEEP LISTEN TO MY VOICE; I KNOW THEM AND THEY FOLLOW ME." (John 10:27) ONCE YOU WERE LIKE SHEEP WHO WANDERED AWAY. BUT NOW YOU HAVE TURNED TO YOUR SHEPHERD, THE GUARDIAN OF YOUR SOULS. (1 Peter 2:25)
