Shabbat

The Hebrew word Sabbath simply means to cease, just stop.  It's that simple.

SOMEWHERE HE (GOD) HAS SPOKEN ABOUT THE SEVENTH DAY AS FOLLOWS; "ON THE SEVENTH DAY GOD RESTED FROM ALL HIS ACTIONS..."  THERE REMAINS, THEREFORE, A SABBATH REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP, BECAUSE THE ONE WHO ENTERS GOD'S REST HAS HIMSELF RESTED FROM HIS OWN ACTIONS, JUST AS GOD DID FROM HIS.   LET US, THEREFORE, MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENTER THAT REST ...  (Hebrews 4:4,9-11a ISV)

 The ultimate rest is heaven.

We can't work our way into heaven.  The only way to get there  is to receive Jesus free gift. He offers eternal life to humanity.  He paid for it on the cross.  The work is done, by Jesus Himself.  So, we can come to Him for rest, trusting Him to get us to heaven some great and glorious day.  When we have Jesus for our Savior we will rest with Him forever in heaven, Paradise.  And it will be so fun.  Hope to see you there!
