The Lords 'Prescense'

In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit was referred to at times as God's 'Presence.'  The Lord's powerful  Presence was manifest in the Shekinah Glory in the exodus. THE LORD REPLIED, "MY PRESENCE WILL GO WITH YOU, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST."  (Ex. 33:14)  Moses had the most incredible relationship with God.  I pray we all could have a relationship like that.  God's Presence would come down to Moses at the tent of meeting in the wilderness. AS MOSES WENT INTO THE TENT, THE PILLAR OF CLOUD WOULD COME DOWN AND STAY AT THE ENTRANCE, WHILE THE LORD SPOKE TO MOSES.  THE LORD WOULD SPEAK TO MOSES FACE TO FACE, AS ONE SPEAKS TO A FRIEND. (Ex. 33:9,11a NIV)  The Lord God told Moses of His great mercy. "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I WILL HAVE MERCY,  I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I WILL HAVE COMPASSION." (v. 19:c)   In a spiritual sense we can talk to God face to face too through Jesus.  His followers did in the Bible. Prayer is it!  Just talk to Him. Worship intensifies this intimacy.

Isn't it interesting that Jesus calls us His friends? I HAVE CALLED YOU FRIENDS, FOR ALL THINGS THAT I HAVE HEARD FROM MY FATHER I HAVE MADE KNOWN TO YOU.  YOU ARE MY FRIENDS IF YOU DO WHAT I COMMAND YOU.  (Jn. 15:15b, 14)  Isn't it interesting that we who follow Jesus are friends with God, the Son?  When we read the Gospels He talks to us literally.  The Holy Spirit's job is to tell us what Jesus is saying on an intimate level too.  I find this profound, and beautiful.  To talk with God.  Our privilede in Christ.

We are protected, hidden, and sheltered in our Lord's "Presence".  IN THE SHELTER OF YOUR PRESENCE YOU HIDE THEM.. (Psalm 31:20a)   King David desired to have the Lord's presence and His Holy Spirit with him always.  Gods presence was of the highest value to the great King David.  (Psalm 51:11)   "YOU WILL MAKE KNOW TO ME THE PATH OF LIFE; IN YOUR PRESENCE IS FULLNESS OF JOY; IN YOUR RIGHT HAND THERE ARE PLEASURES FOREVER," Proclaims King David.  (Psalm 16:11 NASB)  He ought to know.  He is a man after God's own heart.

Isn't it interesting that the King loved to dance before the Lord? (2 Sam. 6:14)  Miriam, the prophetess, Moses sister, danced before the Lord with the women of Israel after the Red Sea crossing.  (Ex. 15:20)   I've found that we can have a direct, experiential relationship with the Presence of the Holy Spirit. We can love God's Spirit too.  I most often am immersed in His Presence when I dance before the Lord in private worship. During worship I'm singing and praying to Him too.  Jesus likes it.  It makes Him happy when we worship Him. LET THEM PRAISE HIS NAME WITH DANCING.. (Psalm 149:3a )
