Saddest Words in the Universe

The Saddest Words Ever Written

(Image: demorrieaux.wordpress.com)

The saddest verse in the Old Testament to me is:  .... SO SHE TOOK SOME OF ITS FRUIT AND ATE IT.  THEN SHE ALSO GAVE SOME TO HER HUSBAND, WHO WAS WITH HER, AND HE ATE SOME TOO.  (Gen. 3:6cISV)

This universe would never be the same again. Death entered in at that moment.  They ate fruit from the tree of death, called the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL,  which was in Eden.  Elohim had warned them not to eat from it.  BUT YOU ARE NOT TO EAT FROM THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL BECAUSE YOU WILL CERTAINLY DIE IN THE DAY YOU EAT FROM IT.  (Gen. 2:17)  Death entered the universe at that moment.  Sin and evil were released into this world to rule and reign in the human heart.  Evil now permeates this world, and death reigns.  It was never like this in the beginning.  There was no death in Eden.  Not even a tree or blade of grass  would ever die.  Nothing bad would ever happen and everyone and everything would live in happiness forever was Gods original plan.  We would be in direct intimate communion with Him always.  But sin shattered the universe, death and decay entered in, the law of entropy.  This present world due to the fall is now under the Prince of this world, Satan.

But it wasn't always so.  Humanity was made to love God, in His image, to have intimate relationship with the God of heaven.    WHEN GOD CREATED MANKIND HE MADE THEM IN HIS OWN LIKENESS,    CREATING THEM MALE AND FEMALE HE BLESSED THEM AND CALLED THEM HUMANS WHEN HE CREATED THEM. (Gen. 5:1c,2)    But the veil of death is over all the world now.  Humanity became lost from relationship with our Creator.  God never gave up on humanity though.  God sent us Jesus 2,000 years ago to die on the cross for the forgiveness of the sins of the world.

FOR THIS IS HOW GOD LOVED THE WORLD: HE GAVE HIS UNIQUE SON SO THAT EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM MIGHT NOT BE LOST BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.  BECAUSE GOD SENT THE SON INTO THE WORLD BUT THAT THE WORLD MIGHT BE SAVED THROUGH HIM. (Jn. 3:16,17 ISV)
