To me some of the most beautiful verses about Jesus come from John's Gospel chapter 6. He reveals Himself spiritually as Life Giving Bread.
"MY FATHER IS THE ONE WHO GIVES YOU THE TRUE BREAD FROM HEAVEN. AND THE BREAD THAT GOD GIVES IS THE ONE WHO CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN TO GIVE LIFE TO THE WORLD." God Himself incarnated in the body of the Man, Jesus; God in the body of a man. IN HIM DWELLETH ALL THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY. (Paul's Epistles, KJ)

2,000 years ago on the cross Jesus did literally give His body and shed His blood for you and for me. Just as He said. He was sacrificed for the remission (forgiveness, removal) of our sins. AND NOT ONLY FOR OURS BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD. (1Jn. 2:2b NIV) Jesus died, He was buried and went to death. After 3 days Jesus rose again. BUT GOD RAISED HIM UP AND PUT AN END TO SUFFERING OF DEATH, SINCE IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM TO BE HELD BY IT. (Acts 2:24 ISV) Jesus has conquered hell, death, and the grave! Hallejulah!
JESUS CHRIST.... THE FIRST TO RISE FROM THE DEAD.. ALL GLORY TO HIM WHO LOVES US AND HAS FREED US FROM OUR SINS BY SHEDDING HIS BLOOD FOR US. (Rev. 1:5b,c NLT) I've sinned a lot n my life. It's so grievous to me. Jesus has freed me from them, forgiven me, as if they've never happened. I love Him very much because I have been forgiven very much.
Jesus explains salvation this way : I AM THE BREAD THAT GIVES LIFE.(v. 48 CEV) MY FLESH IS THE LIFE GIVING THAT I GIVE TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD. (v. 51b) IF YOU EAT MY FLESH AND DRINK MY BLOOD (in a spiritual sense) YOU ARE ONE WITH ME, AND I AM ONE WITH YOU. (v. 56) THE SPIRIT IS THE ONE WHO GIVES LIFE. THE WORDS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU ARE FROM THAT LIFE GIVING SPIRIT. (v.63,a,c)
We can say, just like Simon Peter said to Him: ... "LORD, THERE IS NO ONE ELSE THAT WE CAN GO TO! YOUR WORDS GIVE ETERNAL LIFE. WE HAVE FAITH IN YOU, AND WE ARE SURE THAT YOU ARE GOD'S HOLY ONE. " (v. 68,69 CEV)
