Most Christians don't have a thorough understanding of the power and majesty and work of Jesus Messiah.  He is more than a mere man.  He is God, the Savior of the world.  Christ in Greek is the translation of the Hebrew word Messiah.  Christ means the Anointed One.  The Chosen One of God.

Most of us hear and read about Jesus Christ all the time.  We get into a mindset where Christ simply is His last Name or title.  We lose the awesome splendor and majesty of Who Messiah really is.  That's one reason I appreciate the ISV translation so much.  Dr. William Welty is the only man on the face of the earth to bring back the majesty of "Messiah' to the written word.  All other translations translate the Anointed One as Christ.
I think the Prophet Daniel explores Messiah most beautifully and powerfully. Daniel reveals,  "I continued to observe the night vision—and look!—someone like the Son of Man was coming, accompanied by heavenly clouds. He approached the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. To him dominion was bestowed, along with glory and a kingdom, so that all peoples, nations, and languages are to serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion—it will never pass away—and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”
The Prophet Daniel also tells us of a great kingdom to come with King Messiah ruling and reigning justly on earth in a regenerated earth.  He tells us about this coming kingdom and compares it to a rock, starting small at Jesus' first coming, then growing to fill the earth at Messiah's second coming. Then the rock that struck the statue grew into a huge mountain and filled the entire earth. Dan 2:35c ISV  “... the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor its sovereignty left in the hands of another people. It will shatter and crush all of these kingdoms, and it will stand forever. Now, just as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without human hands—...so also the great God has revealed to the king what will take place after this. Your dream will come true, and its meaning will prove trustworthy." Dan. 2:44-45 portions
When we pray the Lord's prayer, Thy kingdom come, we are praying for god the Father to send His Son, Messiah Jesus to rule and reign on earth.  The woman at the well had a very sad and discouraging life.  She looked for a better world to come.  Her heart yearned for Messiah.  Jesus came to her in His first coming.  He revealed Himself to a woman  struggling in this fallen world. He gave her hope once again, for a better world to come.  The woman told him, “I know that the Anointed One is coming, who is being called ‘the Messiah’. When that person comes, he will explain everything.” “I am he,” Jesus replied, “the one who is speaking to you. John 4:25,26 ISV  Even so, come Lord Jesus.
