Man of Mercy, God of Grace, Jesus, Full of Forgiveness

 

Moses always wanted to see more of YHWH.  One day God agreed to come down and let Moses see a part of His glory.  Let's look at how several different translations render YHWH, I Am in Exodus 34:6.  We will see the bottom line.  What's that?  The mercy, grace, and forgiveness of our Lord incarnate Jesus.  I like to call Him, the Man of mercy, the God of grace, Jesus, full of forgiveness. . the great God, "I AM"

and Jehovah passeth over before his face, and calleth: 'Jehovah, Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness and truth.. (Youngs Literal Translation)

The LORD passed in front of Moses, calling out, "Yahweh! The LORD! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness (New Living Translation)

The LORD passed in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and filled with gracious love and truth.  (ISV)

Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, "Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth  (World English Bible
