The Fear of the Lord, the Love of God

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
The key verse of proverbs, the secret of life eternal, the secret of living a life here and now is to seek to please God.
Jesus told us Who to fear.  He said:4“But I tell you, my friends, never be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can’t do anything more. 5I’ll show you the one you should be afraid of. Be afraid of the one who has the authority to throw you into helld after killing you. Yes, I tell you, be afraid of him!  (Luke 12:4,5 ISV
What do I think is even greater?  Love God. 36"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37And He (Jesus) said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' 38"This is the great and foremost commandment.… (Mt. 22)
When we love Jesus, we obey Him. "If you love me, keep my commands.(Jn. 14:15)
John 14:21
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."
John 14:23
Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
John 15:10
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love.
1 John 2:3
We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.
1 John 5:3
In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
2 John 1:6
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God (col. 1:10)  2 Corinthians 5:9
So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
Ephesians 4:1
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
Ephesians 5:10
and find out what pleases the Lord.
Colossians 2:6
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,
Titus 3:14
Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives
