The Cross

2,000 years ago the Lord of glory was crucified on a cross of wood although He made the earth on which it stood.  God's unfathomable riches of mercy, grace, and forgiveness were blown into the universe forever that day when the Son of Man cried out, "It is finished.  Paid in full."  Jesus then died, His dead body was buried.  Jesus Spirit went down to death and defeated hell death and the grave.  He ascended in victory 3 days later when He arose from the dead into His resurrected body.  Just as foretold by the Prophets since the beginning of time.  Jesus paid the price for the sins of the world, purchased human beings for God from every tribe, people and language and nation by His own blood.  He set His followers free from death and saved us from our sins so we can be kings and priests unto His God.  This is called eternal life, being born again.  Some great day this mortal body will put on immortality.  I will be clothed with glory like my Lord and walk with Him in white forever, and sit with Him in the Paradise of God.  To live is Christ, to die is gain.
The Prophet Isaiah was the greatest of the Messianic Prophets.  He foresaw Jesus, Messiah, the hope of the world.  Isaiah 53 describes how God revealed His suffering servant to Isaiah for all the world to see.  The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.  Believe in Him, and some great Day, meet me in Paradise.

Isaiah 53 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

What God’s Servant Did for Us

53 Has anyone believed us
or seen the mighty power
    of the Lord in action?
Like a young plant or a root
    that sprouts in dry ground,
the servant grew up
    obeying the Lord.
He wasn’t some handsome king.
Nothing about the way he looked
    made him attractive to us.
He was hated and rejected;
his life was filled with sorrow
    and terrible suffering.
No one wanted to look at him.
We despised him and said,
    “He is a nobody!”
He suffered and endured
    great pain for us,
but we thought his suffering
    was punishment from God.
He was wounded and crushed
    because of our sins;
by taking our punishment,
    he made us completely well.
All of us were like sheep
    that had wandered off.
We had each gone our own way,
but the Lord gave him
    the punishment we deserved.
He was painfully abused,
    but he did not complain.
He was silent like a lamb
    being led to the butcher,
as quiet as a sheep
    having its wool cut off.
He was condemned to death
    without a fair trial.
Who could have imagined
    what would happen to him?
His life was taken away
because of the sinful things
    my people[a] had done.
He wasn’t dishonest or violent,
but he was buried in a tomb
    of cruel and rich people.[b]
10 The Lord decided his servant
    would suffer as a sacrifice
to take away the sin
    and guilt of others.
Now the servant will live
    to see his own descendants.[c]
He did everything
    the Lord had planned.
11 By suffering, the servant
will learn the true meaning
    of obeying the Lord.
Although he is innocent,
he will take the punishment
    for the sins of others,
so that many of them
    will no longer be guilty.
12 The Lord will reward him
with honor and power
    for sacrificing his life.
Others thought he was a sinner,
but he suffered for our sins
and asked God to forgive us
