Being At Jesus Feet
Being at the feet of God in our human need is the highest ideal in life. Realizing and knowing we are totally dependent on the Almighty to gives us everything, even our next breath. John the Baptist said, "A person can receive nothing unless it is given to them from above." (Gospels) How true I ave found that to be. Jesus divinely healed me of terminal cancer years ago when I was too weak to hardly even move. I realized I couldn't even draw my next breath without Him.
Ruth is the epitome of love to me. He love for Naomi was fierce and forever. When Ruth approached the feet of Boaz at the threshing floor she was seeking mercy, mercy for a hurting widow, Naomi.

Ruth asked Boaz to be Naomi's Kinsman Redeemer and give Naomi her property, her life back. And Boaz did. What a man of great love. So Naomi could have a house, food, and land, and a life. How rare and wonderful for Ruth to care for and interceed for a desperate, bitter widow who had lost everything and was destined to live a life of misery, poverty and despair. And that's what Boaz did. He bought Naomi's assets back and freely gave them to Naomi. What great love. No wonder God chose him to be in the line of Messiah.
Boaz in his great love and generosity wasn't done yet. He took care of a gentile outcast, Ruth, and married her. He gave her the most precious baby Obed. I know he was a man of great love, like his parents. And love is the greatest of all the Scriptures tell us. How great was Ruth's love? She gave her new baby to restore Naomi's life, and bring her joy. Ruth was very smart, she knew Naomi would raise the young man to be the grandfather of great King David, and teach him how to be a fine man in God's sight
