Sword of the Spirit

(Image: fineartamerica.com)
The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit.  It is our offensive weapon against the strategies of Satan.  This is one of the most powerful weapons for you and I against immorality.  (Ephesians 6)

What are some of my favorite Bible verses, words full of God's power, that protect me against personal immorality?  They will work for you too ladies.  We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God.  It was all given to us by God's own power... (from 2 Peter 1:3,4 CEV)    You are not missing out on any blessings as you wait for Him to return.   And until the Day Christ does return He will keep you completely innocent.  God can be trusted, and He chose you to be partners with His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ (from 1 Cor 1:7-9)

Don't sin because others do. (1 Tim. 5:22c)  A secret is don't date.  That's the best protection against sexual immorality.  Jesus is our Husband.  If He wants to give us a husband, He will, and if not, the Scriptures say it is better not to marry. For this is what the Lord spoke to me as His forceful hand was resting on me and as He was warning me not to live the way this people were living.. (Is. 8:11 ISV)
I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I now live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me.  (Gal. 2:20 NIV)

I think for us women taking the Scriptures seriously is our best protection against sexual immorality. This is an extremely serious issue for us women in Christ. We belong to Jesus.  What does Jesus have to say to us women if we do fall into sexual immorality and don't turn from our wicked ways and repent: I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast her on a bed of suffering and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways.  (Rev. 2:21,22 NIV) I don't think we better mess around with God on this issue.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.  .. take the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, .. praying always with all prayer and supplication, and watching thereunto with all perseverance, and supplication for all the saints.. (Eph 6:10,17b,18 KJV)

Immorality in the Church

We must always pray the blood of Christ over us and ask God to  protect us from our own sins and sinful sexual desires.  And we must never be alone around a member of the opposite sex who is not our husband or wife.  It's really very simple, and a matter of determination and total and complete reliance on God.
The answer to getting rid of immorality in the church is very easy.  Pick up the telephone, call your internet provider and cancel your internet account.  Then, the men can't be locked onto addicting porn all the time and you will stop inflaming themselves into neighing stallions after other men's wives.  By the way, that's why Jerusalem was finally taken down by God. (Jeremiah)  A note to men:  Jesus does not like it when you married men hit on His women. This happens all to much!! You better be careful, He does not tolerate it.  This is what Jesus says: But why do you indulge that Balaam crowd?  (Rev. 2:14 a Msg.) You still have a few followers of Jesus in Sardis who have not ruined themselves wallowing in the muck of the world's ways. (Rev. 3:4a Msg.)
The churches need to have hidden video cameras in all their rooms, so they can keep an eye on their employees behavior in the church buildings.  This will help to avoid costly litigation also, and hopefully keep the sexual predators out of the churches.
Women need to report to the ministers when they are being hit upon by married men within the Body of Christ.  Single women need to get off the dating sites that are really only sites encouraging sexual addiction for the vulnerable women.  The ministers cannot tolerate the Balaam bunch (Rev.) in the assembly.
When we are tempted to sin we must pray, call up Jesus, and talk to Him. It's called prayer.  He will deliver us.  He is faithful and true.  God gives us the ability to life a live worthy of Him Who Calls us.  And live in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

Fear of the Lord

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  (Proverbs)
Sid
To me fearing the Lord means knowing and honoring the God of heaven.  He holds our very breath in His hands.  All things come for Him and through Him, (Epistles).  We can receive nothing unless it is given us from heaven says John the Baptist.
20 years ago I was laying on my bed with terminal cancer, devastated and weakened by chemo as well as metastatic aggressive breast cancer.  I knew I would meet my Maker.  It took me being on my death bed before I acknowledged that I needed Jesus to get me to heaven.  With my soul hanging in the balance I learned the fear of the Lord since then.  I received Him as my Savior.  He immediately took all fear of death off me.   A few months later, Jesus had mercy on me and did a miracle of healing.  He took all cancer out of my body, and He blew a living hope into me.  His goodness, grace and forgiveness has upheld  me ever since.
Fearing the Lord can be summed up by Scripture:
... I.. beg you to live a life worthy of your calling, for you have  been called by God. (Eph. 4:1b,dNLT)   So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord (Jesus) and please Him in every way... (Col 1:10a)  The only thing that matters is that you continue to live as good citizens in a manner worthy of the gospel of the Messiah. (Phil. 1:27 aISV)   So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. (2 Thess. 1:11 NLT)

Decision Determines Destiny

I know a man who made a terrible decision over many years to betray his wife.  It cost him dearly.  The last 15 years of their marriage he with held physical affection from her.  He hardened his heart to any unity and agreement in their relationship.  He started getting their joint assets in his name and was taking all of their  money away from his wife.  One day he told her he was going to divorce her.  She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord and always did her best towards her husband.  Had the man succeded in his wicked schemes it may have actuallly killed her by destroying her immune system, leaving her a broken hearted, impoverished senior lady.  But, God would not allow it.  The man got sick and died, instead of being able to follow through on his evil plans of divorcing the wife of his youth and taking all of their joint assets.  She is now a widow.  She is sorry her husband from her youth made such a decietful decision. and forfeited a good life together.

Solomon

The wisest fool who ever lived.

(Image: BBC.com)
In the beauty and innocense of his youth Solomon sought to know the wisdom of God to rule God's people.  His heart's desires was answered by God Himself Who came to Solomon in a dream. 1 kings 3:3-15

Yet, in his senior years Solomon's pride lifted him up.  He thought he was to great to obey God's rules as set forth by Moses in the Torah.  Solomon multiplied wives, many foreign women, he also hoarded gold, and horses, and chariots which were all against the law, in direct violation to the written commandments.  Solomon could not love a woman as a wife, he despised women and didn't even love a son to be his heir.  (Eccl.)  He became a foolish and wicked , drunken sex pervert with all these foreign women..  He not only destroyed himself but he led God's people into false worship of heathen demons and even sacrificed children to Molech.  What a terrible price the people paid.  Israel was never freed from the sins of Solomon until after the Babylonian captivity.  Reading Ecclesiastes is especially interesting to get insights into his heart.  I'm so sorry for what happened to him. It is deeply saddening...  Solomon was meaning himself when he wrote this verse in Ecclesiastes: A poor but wise youth is better than an old but foolish king who will no longer accept correction.  (4:13I SV)

Heaven

The New Heaven and the New Earth

Image:propheticalert.wordpress

I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and so had the sea.  Then I saw New Jerusalem, that holy city, coming down from God in heaven. ...

I heard a loud voice shout from the throne:
God’s home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people.  He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever. (Rev. 21:1-4)

Chuck Missler on Prayer and Worship

What does Chuck Missler have to say about prayer and worship?

(Image: christpicture..)

And He (Jesus) withdrew Himself into the wilderness and prayed.  (Luke 5:16 KJV)  And it came to pass in those days that He went out to a mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God. (Luke 6:12 KJV)

"Prayer is the best antidote for stress and pressure." Chuck Missler says in his study of Luke 5.
Chuck says we always see Jesus withdrawing for prayer.  He says if Jesus needed to pray so much then how much more you and I.  We all need to pray more.

Jesus replied, "The Scriptures say 'You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him." (Luke 4:8NLT)

Missler instructs, "Don't let anything crowd out worship."
(John 11 commentary)

There Is No Lasting Happiness Apart From Jesus

Do Not Be Deceived: There is no lasting happiness apart from Jesus.

I've learned that true and lasting happiness in only found in the arms of Messiah!

(Image: prophecycomingtrue.com)
Chuck Missler teaches that Jesus Sermon on the Plain in Luke 6 that He emphasized 4 essentials for happiness:
- Faith in God
- Honesty with ourselves
- Love toward others
- Obedience toward God
The recent news headlines read that the Pope tells us 10 secrets of happiness. I'm so excited to read what the Pontiff has to say! So, I click on the article to see words of wisdom from the Pope, who is to represent Jesus on earth. What do I read? Nothing about God, nothing about Jesus. I'm appalled. They stand in stark contrast to Jesus teachings. I read lies and words of blaspheme supposedly telling us how to be happy in this sin sick world. And I know, that is far from the Truth. I feel sickened inside to read such shallow and godless advice! Why didn't he talk about a relationship with God through Jesus, His Son? I felt angered and appalled that our Lord of glory is dismissed; acceptance of false religion and living for this world is embraced in his happiness secrets. They are words of blasphemy and are a recipe for a life concerned only with this world, devoid of the Truth, and an eternity away from the presence of God.

You see, I know there is no happiness apart from God through Jesus Christ. Jesus gives eternal happiness is Paradise forever to His followers some great and glorious day when we leave this world and these mortal bodies to be with Him. Jesus is our source of joy. I know that the Bible is truth, so that is where we go to seek the keys to happiness. The ultimate truth and happiness is to behold and seek the face of God forever. The Holy Spirit of Jesus was poured out and given at Pentecost 2,000 years ago to guide us into all truth. The only thing that satisfies the soul is union with our Creator God through His Son Jesus. May we love Jesus even more. In His arms are 10,000 charms.

Jesus says, "You shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free." He promises, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things (joy in this world) shall be added unto you." (Gospels)

The Ultimate Abomination

The Abomination That Makes Desolate:  Abomination of Desolation

At that time, the time of the end (time of Jacob's trouble)  the ultimate abomination called the "abomination of desolation" will make itself known, manifest.  (Daniel, Mt. 24:15, Mk. 13:14, Thess. Rev.) That means the abomination that will make this world desolate will be revealed.  (Dan. 9:27, etc) What is that abomination?  The Son of Perdition.  (Thess)

(Image: seraphinconcepts.deviantart)
The entire human race will be worshipping him,Satan's spawn (seed). (Gen, Rev)  Satan Himself will empower a man, the antichrist.  This man, will walk into the temple of God.  He will be possessed by Satan.  He will throw and rip open the curtain into the Holy of Holies.  He will walk right up to God's mercy seat.  Then Satan, in the body of this antichrist man will proclaim to the entire human race that he is God.  What will humanity do?  Bow down, and worship him, in total deception.  They will accept his mark, 666. (Rev.)
Paul's writings to the Christians in Thessolonika explains it this ways:  The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the power of Satan. He will use every kind of power, including miraculous signs, lying wonders, and every type of evil to deceivek those who are dying, those who refused to love the truth that would save them. For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. Then all who have not believed the truth but have taken pleasure in unrighteousness will be condemned. (2 Thess. 2:9-11 ISV)
And what will happen to it?     Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.” (Dan. 9:26b,27 ESV)
(Image: prophetic verses.com)
... (The abomination of Antichrist)  whom the Lord will destroy with the breath of his mouth, rendering him powerless by the manifestation of his coming. (2 Thess. 8:b ISV)

Even so, Come Lord Jesus.  (Rev. 20:22c KJV)
Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.  (Eph. 6:24 NIV)

What Is An Abomination?

What is an 'abomination?"
(Image; remnantofthelight.net)

The real question is, "What is an abomination in God's eyes?"   Human opinion doesn't matter, only the Almighty's.  That's why we go to the Bible, His Words of Spirit and Life,  to discover the wisdom of God. In my words?  An abomination is anything that human beings do that God finds detestable and can't stand.  Things that humans do that God hates. The main one being worshipping, or loving, or serving anything more than God through Jesus Christ the Savior.  (Prov. 6:16, 11:1, 12;22, Lev. 20:13 to name a few, etc)

God clearly tells humanity what is right in His sight: He has shown you, o mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6: NIV)  That's how our Creator originally made us to be.  Anything else, is an abomination to the Omnipotent One Who Loves us.  Jesus, God in the body of a man, came 2,000 years ago.  He tells us, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is exactly like it: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.” (Mt. 22:37b-40 ISV)
After sin came into this world at the fall, the evil of humanity has prevailed under the blindness of the prince of this world, Satan. That's why we need our Savior Jesus, the Son of God, to save us from our sins. (Gospels) Thank God for His cross!!  Human evil will continue to prevail, and get worse until the end of this age. (Rev, Dan, Prophets)  This world is quickly becoming a total abomination in God's sight.  But, don't fear, look up, because Jesus will come again and make everything right!!
So, what is the definition  of 'abomination"? The Greek word is 'bdelygma'.  Which means: "an abominable thing, an accursed thing; (James Strong) ; derived from 'bdeo' properly, that which emits a foul odor, and hence is disgustingly abhorrent, (abominable, detestable); figuratively, moral horror as a stench to God, (Like when people refuse to hear and obey His voice) (HELPS Word-studies).   Let's give examples of abominations which the Lord our God detests; human arrogance and pride (Prov. 16:5); satanism, idolatry and sexual perversion (Lev. 18, Deut. 18); cheating others and dishonesty with our fellow man (Deut. 25:16, Prov. 11:1, etc.) to name a few.  I think our God given conscience can tell us others.   One of the worst abominations is being a 'lover of money', and pretending to be something other than what one is, a hypocrite. (How many people have and will do terrible things to others because they love money?  Is war all about that?(James))   Jesus has this to say to the Pharisees and to everyone who loves money instead of God: The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him.  And he said to them,“You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God."
